What is the difference between the Leister Triac ST and the Leister Triac S?

What is the difference between the Leister Triac ST and the Leister Triac S? The Leister Triac ST is the upgraded version of the Leister Triac S (which is no longer in production). Some of the improved differences with the Triac ST are:• Ergonomic handle (which is a composite of plastic and rubber, whereas the Triac S was plastic only).• The Triac ST weighs less than 2.2 pounds, lighter than its predecessor.• The ST uses state-of-the-art components.• Manufactured with only 35 spare parts; whereas the Triac S had 53 parts (which you can still purchase).• Most of the parts unique to the Triac ST are less expensive than those of the Triac S.• Less expensive (by $65) than the Triac S.

Do nozzles for my old Triac S fit on the newer Triac ST?

Yes, any nozzle that fit the old Triac S plastic welding tool will fit on the Triac ST tool.

What are plastic welding rods? I have found some generic rod that I can use for my plastic welding project. This should work, right?

Plastic welding rod is rods of plastic made from the type of thermoplastic that you are trying to weld. When welding plastic it’s important to use like materials so the weld is strong. Example HDPE rod to HDPE sub straight. Therefore, it is imperative that you know what materials you are working with. How long of an extension cord can you use for a Varimat V2?

Accepted Answer

We recommend 100ft maximum 6/3AWG from a generator to a spider box for the Varimat V2. Voltage drops if cord is over 100ft. Then from the spider box to the tool, it’s 100ft maximum of 10/3AWG.

How big of a generator do I need for a Varimat V2?

Accepted Answer

The suggested minimum heavy-duty generator capacity required when using a Varimat V2 is 10kW. Never run drills, screw guns, radios etc. on the same generator as the Varimat. The generator must have less than 10% total harmonic distortion.

Question 9

Why is the air blowing out only one side of the nozzle on my Varimat V2 or Uniroof?

The nozzles are designed to blow this way intentionally on both the Varimat V2 and Uniroof. The air blows out of the small part of the nozzle, while the air dam is designed to keep the hot air from escaping and pushes it towards the overlap edge.

I have a CH6060 and need another tool or spare part.

Accepted Answer

CH-6060 or CH-6056 are postal codes for Switzerland. This is not the article number. You can find the article number on newer equipment located on the name plate; it has 6 digits separated by a period e.g (141.228). To locate an older equipment article number, look for the tool type (TYP), with Voltage and Wattage. What is plastic welding?

Plastic welding is a process of uniting in a molecular bond two compatible thermoplastics generally with the aid of heat. In other words, thermoplastics (a polymer plastic that can be melted and shaped several times) are joined together by melting the surfaces and pressing them together. What are three main steps in Plastic Welding?

The primary steps in plastic welding are pressing, heating and cooling. • Pressing: The application of pressure, which is often used throughout both the heating and cooling stages, is used to retain the parts in the proper orientation and to improve melt flow across the interface.• Heating: The purpose of the heating stage is to allow intermolecular diffusion from one part to the other across the faying surface (melt mixing).• Cooling: Cooling is necessary to solidify the newly formed bond; the execution of this stage can have a significant effect on weld strength.

How do you choose the right Hot Air Blower or Heater?

To make the decision, first you need to take a few factors into consideration: volume of air flow, compatibility of air sources, built-in thermocouple, and built-in temperature controls. A hot air blower is exactly how it sounds; it blows hot air, generally, in a specific direction. Like a hot air blower, a hot air heater also is exactly as it sounds; it creates heat, which can heat enclosed spaces. So of course, both hot air blowers and hot air heaters heat things or spaces, but what’s the actual difference between the two? The warranty on a Leister tool is 1 year from the date it was purchased. This does not cover power cords or heating elements.

How long will it take for my Leister tool to be repaired?

Once we receive the tool, in most cases we will have a repair quote sent to you via email within 24 hours. Once we receive an approval from you about the repair quote, we will begin repairs and provide an estimated completion date. Some repairs require additional spare parts we might not carry, this would require an additional lead time.
